ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a building in rural Boone County over the weekend.
The fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, near County Road 900 East and State Road 32 in rural Zionsville.
The Zionsville Fire Department said in a social media post that crews were responding to a fire alarm from heavy smoke coming from an auxiliary building.
Crews from nine other fire departments were called in to assist, and tanker trucks hauled in water, as the fire was in an area without fire hydrants, the department said.
No injuries were reported.
The department said the building was a total loss, and damages were preliminarily estimated to be around $500,000.
