IMPD locates SUV allegedly involved into deadly hit-and-run crash with go-kart on Indy’s far east side

The crash happened on North Fenton Avenue, near East 16th Street between Franklin and Post roads, around 10 p.m. Monday.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after locating a vehicle allegedly involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash with a go-kart on the far east side of Indianapolis Monday night.

A 31-year-old woman was killed in the crash around 10 p.m. May 27 in the 1500 block of North Fenton Avenue, near East 16th Street and North Franklin Road.

Friday morning, an IMPD spokesperson said detectives were looking for a 2007 silver/champagne Chevy Tahoe with damage to the front driver's side that may not have a license plate attached.

That same afternoon, the spokesperson said the vehicle has been located, and the investigation is ongoing.

An IMPD spokesperson said an SUV and a go-kart were involved in the crash. When officers arrived, the woman and a man, who were in the go-kart, were found at the scene, but the driver of the SUV was not there.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified her as 31-year-old Ambra Menee Alcozer.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where police say his condition has stabilized.
