CONNERSVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) — A woman in Connersville is trying to find the owner a group of photos she found hidden inside a box she bought at Goodwill.
Lorie Voltz thought she was purchasing an interesting wooden box at the Shelbyville store.
"I just really liked it," she said. "It looks raw. I bought it for the box. It was 5 bucks."
When she got it outside and looked at the box closer, she found more than two dozen photos.
Voltz, a photographer, said the pictures were very well done, scenes of landmarks, people and pets. Even a school dance.
"I don't know if it's for a living or just a hobby, but she is very talented."
It's a collection of work that Voltz believes was never intended to be sent to Goodwill.
"I thought someone threw her pictures out without her knowing or they got mixed up in something, but I just couldn't imagine she would throw them out, as nice as they are," she said.
Now she's trying to figure out who took the photos so she can return them. A name on the back provided a lead, but even after a Facebook post, no "Kayla Shipley" has come forward.
"If she didn't mean for them to be thrown out, she can have them, and if she did then, I just hit a jackpot," Voltz said, laughing.
"'Cause they are really nice and I can use some of them," she said.
