44-year-old woman killed in 2-car crash in Noblesville

The woman was driving north on State Road 37, near Allisonville Road, when she crossed into the southbound lanes, striking another car head-on, police said.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A 44-year-old Noblesville woman was killed in a two-car crash on State Road 37 Monday morning.

Witnesses told investigators at the scene that a Kia Soul was traveling north on State Road 37 around 8 a.m. Oct. 23 when the driver crossed into the southbound lane where the road transitions from four lanes down to two near Allisonville Road. 

The Kia crashed head-on with a Dodge Charger that was traveling south on State Road 37. 

The driver of the Kia, identified as 44-year-old Nicole Townley, of Noblesville, was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the Dodge was taken to St. Vincent Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

State Road 37 was closed for about three hours near the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.
