26-year-old woman killed, baby injured in Greenwood crash between car, semi

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Main Street and Commerce Parkway West Drive.

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Greenwood police are investigating after a woman was killed and baby was injured in a crash involving a semi Wednesday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m. Nov. 22, Greenwood Police Department officers responded to the intersection of East Main Street and Commerce Parkway West Drive, just east of Interstate 65, for a report of the crash involving a car and a semi. 

The female driver of the car was killed in the crash, and a girl around one years old was taken to Riley Hospital for Children with minor injuries, Greenwood Police Department Sgt. Jay Arnold told 13News. The woman killed was later identified as 26-year-old Michaela Elaine Norton.

The semi driver was not injured and was being interviewed by police.

Arnold said the exact circumstances leading up to the crash were not yet known.

The intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours Wednesday morning.
