WILKINSON, Ind. — Firefighters with the Wilkinson Volunteer Fire Department rescued two dogs from a rolled over car on Interstate 70 Thursday morning.

The crash happened early in the morning Aug. 29. A minivan was driving from New York to Colorado when it rolled over on I-70 in Hancock County.

The two people in the van got out, but there were two dogs in cages with them. The dogs were still in the van when firefighters arrived.

Thankfully, the pups were OK after the firefighters got them out of the minivan, and no one – human or canine – was injured in the crash.

Wilkinson is approximately 40 miles northeast of downtown Indianapolis.
