INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Ben Hill joins the Eyewitness News team as ‘Sunrise’ co-Anchor from FOX Carolina News in South Carolina, where he was nominated for an EMMY for “Best Morning Newscast.”

He is originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from the Hoosier State. As a matter of fact, he visited Southern Indiana so often that it almost felt like a second home.

Ben has extensively covered politics, traveling all across South Carolina to secure one-on-one interviews with Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush and many more presidential primary contenders. He was also selected to serve as a panelist for the “Palladian View” – a forum that hosted many of the republican presidential contenders. As a panelist, Ben questioned everyone from Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. Jeb Bush, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorina and Gov. Rick Perry. During the tragic shooting of nine parishioners at Emanuel AME in Charleston, South Carolina, Ben anchored live continuous coverage as the manhunt ensued for the alleged shooter, Dylann Roof. Before his time in South Carolina, he served as anchor at KETK-TV, the NBC affiliate in east Texas. While in the Lone Star state, he anchored live coverage of President Obama’s announcement of the death of Osama bin Laden, and also covered Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential bid and Ted Cruz’s run for U.S. Senate, amongst many more stories.

Ben has been married to his beautiful wife, Holly for nearly five years. They have a 4-year-old dog, Tyler and are excited to continue to explore Central Indiana. Ben earned his B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from Western Kentucky University. During journalism school, he served multiple internships with "NBC Nightly News" and "Good Morning America."

Ben is an avid golfer, and is gladly taking course recommendations. He's also a massive college basketball fan!
