A fire at the Heather Ridge Apartments Monday night caused damage to eight units and displaced residents of six of those units from their homes.
The fire started just before midnight Monday night.
Wayne Township Fire Department says the fire started in the closet of an upstairs apartment.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke in the building. They say this made the fire difficult to fight.
A woman living in the apartment where the fire started called 911.
She was able to get out safely. WTFD officials say there were no injuries.
There was one dog rescued from the fire.
Six of those eight damaged units were occupied. Victims Assistance is working with those people to find places to stay.
The fire caused approximately $100,000 in damage.
