Indianapolis is going viral on Facebook thanks to an incredible video from Visit Indy.

Matt Carlson, Visit Indy's internal video production manager, created the 2 minute video as part of Visit Indy's $1 million summer ad/marketing campaign. He shot, edited and produced the video to help promote and market Indianapolis during the height of summer travel to the Circle City, specifically for meeting planners so convention attendees now can see what Indy has to offer them.

He posted it to his Facebook page last Thursday. Before 6 p.m. Monday evening, it had been viewed 900,000 times.

"The response has been amazing and more than I ever imagined," Carlson told WTHR.com. "What I  think is really cool is how the comments section has turned into a love letter to the city. When I shared the video out on my Facebook, I didn't anticipate the viral nature and sharing that quickly took place."

When asked to add his own line to that "love letter to the city," he said his favorite way to get around is on his electric long board.

"When I have my video equipment with me, I can cruise around and never have to get in a car or bus to get from place to place. That’s why I love filming here in Indy."

Carlson produces more than two dozen videos a year for Visit Indy. He said this video is a compilation of the best shot's he's captured over the last two years.
