INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – Next time you go to a Butler basketball game, you may see some added security measures.
Hinkle Fieldhouse will now have walk through metal detectors at the gates.
Security staff will start using the metal detectors at the beginning of basketball season.
To give Bulldogs fans time to get through security, gates will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off for men's basketball games.
The admission policy at Hinkle Fieldhouse prohibits "backpacks or large bags". Other bags will be subject to inspection.
The changes come in response to national recommendations from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security.
