BOONE COUNTY, Indiana — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Boone County Monday morning.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7 in the 8800 block of West 300 South, just west of Advance, Indiana, authorities said.
According to a sheriff's department spokesperson, a UTV (utility terrain vehicle) and a pickup truck were going west on 300 South when the UTV began to make a left turn at the same time the truck was attempting to pass it. The two vehicles were then involved in a collision.
The driver of the UTV, 61-year-old Stacey Sutphin, of Jamestown, Indiana, was taken to a hospital but later died from her injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
An investigation is ongoing, deputies said.
Jamestown is approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis.
