Two people were wounded Tuesday in a shooting inside a Lawrence restaurant.

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WTHR) - Two people were wounded Tuesday in a shooting inside a Lawrence restaurant.

The shooting happened just before 8:00 pm at the Buffalo Wild Wings on Pendleton Pike.

"There was a disturbance that occurred inside the restaurant here, between at least a couple of individuals, maybe a couple of groups of individuals," said Lawrence Police Deputy Police Chief Gary Woodruff. "And that disturbance led to two people being shot as a result of that disturbance, or fight."

Woodruff said the two victims, aged 17 and 18, were taken to Eskenazi Health. One victim had a wound to the abdomen. The other was shot in the arm. Police described the injuries as not-life-threatening.

He said the man police believe shot the victims went to a nearby business and called police to confess. Police have not identified him except to say he is 18 years old.

"Told police he was securing his firearm, told our officers exactly where it was at and, so far, has been very cooperative with our officers and is being interviewed right now by detectives," Woodruff said.

Police towed the suspect’s white car.

Police trying to piece together exactly what happened and in which part of the restaurant it occurred. Officers said they do not believe it was a gang-related incident.
