Two bicyclists were injured when they were struck by a vehicle in Whitestown Friday evening.
Whitestown Police say the bicyclists were struck in the intersection of Eagles Nest Boulevard and Indianapolis Road around 6 p.m. Friday. Investigators determined the cyclists were riding south on Indianapolis Road when they were struck by the passenger vehicle, which was leaving the Eagles Nest subdivision.
The bicyclists were taken to area hospitals to be treated for moderate to severe injuries.
Police said because of the severity of the victims' injuries, the Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was investigating the crash, though alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
