REDKEY, Ind. — One person was injured Friday morning when a truck collided with a school bus in Redkey.
It happened at 7:47 a.m. Friday on State Road 1 at Boyce Street, which is just south of State Road 67.
According to Indiana State Police, a preliminary investigation indicates the crash happened when a trash disposal truck going north on the highway collided with a Jay County Schools bus, which was stopped for boarding students.
A student was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
Neither driver was injured, police said, and no one else was hurt.
As part of the investigation, both drivers voluntarily submitted to testing for impairment, but the spokesperson said drugs or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
