GREENWOOD, Ind. — A troubled hotel in Greenwood could be torn down next month.
That's after a judge ruled demolition can move forward for the Red Carpet Inn and Fanta Suites.
The ruling a few days ago gives the hotel owner 30 days to appeal. If he doesn't, he will have to either start demolition or the city of Greenwood can start tearing it down.
The city closed Fanta Suites last year, citing health and safety hazards. In a hearing earlier this month, city leaders shared pictures and said conditions have only gotten worse, reporting vandalism, small fires, squatters and break-ins.
The hotel owner has until Dec. 21 to appeal.
