TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — Police in Tippecanoe County are investigating after a person was killed in a single-car crash early Friday.
The crash was reported around 1:45 a.m. Oct. 25 in the 1400 block East of 725 North. That's roughly eight miles north of Lafayette, near Battle Ground.
Responding Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office deputies found the driver and sole occupant of the car, a 2008 Volkswagen Beetle, dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicated the car was traveling on County Road 725 North when it ran off the road and hit several trees, ejecting the driver.
The Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office will release the driver's identity once family has been notified.
The crash remains under investigation.
