Austin - Police officers in Scott County arrested three men suspected in a bank robbery Friday afternoon.

The Austin City Police officers were called to the Indiana Bank and Trust on U.S. 31 around 11 a.m. on a report of two suspicious males walking around behind the bank building. While the officers were enroute, police dispatchers notified them of a robbery at the bank.

During the robbery the men, identified as Robert and Thomas Davidson, allegedly entered the bank demanding money, while their brother Samuel waited nearby in a Dodge Dakota pickup truck.

A short time after the robbery, the officers arrived at the bank and saw two white males running across a church parking lot south of the bank. The men jumped into the pickup truck that was hidden behind the church. As the men took off in the vehicle, they crashed into two police cars and continued traveling south on U.S. 31. Two Austin City Police Officers received minor injuries in the crash.

The officers pursued the men to Scottsburg, where Scottsburg Police joined the pursuit. The chase made its way to Interstate 65, stopping near mile marker 24, near the town of Vienna. As the truck stopped, one of the persons being pursued, Thomas Davidson, fled the truck, but was captured after a short foot pursuit by officers. Police recovered money believed to be from the bank when the pursuit ended.

Davidson's brothers, Samuel and Thomas, were apprehended in the truck. Thomas Davidson is facing charges of Robbery and Fleeing Law Enforcement on Foot, Robert Davidson faces a Robbery charge and Samuel Davidson faces charges of Fleeing Law Enforcement in a Motor Vehicle and Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer. The brothers are from Louisville, Kentucky.

Robert and Samuel Davidson were incarcerated in the Scott County Jail awaiting their initial court appearance. Thomas Davidson was taken to the Scott County Memorial Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries received during the incident.

No one at the bank was injured during the robbery.
