INDIANAPOLIS — A unique mural is commemorating a moment in Indianapolis entertainment history.
Indiana-based artist Cory Heimann created a mural featuring the four members of The Beatles for the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum.
But it's not your everyday art installation.
Heimann's mural was created from 2,368 hand-solved Rubik's Cubes, measuring 32 Cubes high by 74 Cubes wide — dimensions of nearly 14 feet wide by six feet tall!
After coming up with a design plan, Heimann put out a call on social media looking for "Cubers" to help him solve the cubes with the proper design to create the likenesses of John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
The mural was unveiled Tuesday evening as the Fairgrounds commemorated the 60th anniversary of The Beatles' only Indianapolis shows in 1964. It will be on permanent display in the concourse of the Coliseum.
