It's April Fool's Day!
We rounded up some of the best pranks of the day.
Google Mic Drop
This year it looks like the joke is on Google. The company is apologizing after one of its April Fools' jokes backfired.
A feature called "Mic Drop" placed an orange "Mic Drop" button next to the "send" button. It was designed to end annoying email chains by attaching an angry minion dropping a microphone.
Even if people did respond, you would never see the messages because you "dropped the mic."
The plan went horribly wrong. People were accidentally clicking the "drop the mic button" instead of the send button, which happened to be right next to each other.
White Castle "Crave Copter"
This is just cruel.
As drone delivery appears to be becoming a real thing, White Castle created an April Fool's prank showing Crave Cases being dropped right on your doorstep.
It's not real, but it should be.
Redbox looks for help
Redbox is looking for "kiosk ambassadors," someone who they say can "think inside the box."
Applicants should "love sitting in one place for eight hours...and enjoy a very, very small workplace," while being proficient at stacking discs.
The gag did have a payoff - Redbox customers can get a dollar off a rental with the code "APRIL FOOLS."
Bilingual pillow
Ever want to learn a second language? The Duoingo pillow promises that for $99.
The pillow prank said customers could go to bed speaking English and wake up bilingual. In a press release, the real company behind the joke said the language is free, but the pillow is what will cost you.
