INDIANAPOLIS — A holiday classic is returning to the big screen soon in downtown Indianapolis, and the theater is asking viewers to dress in the comfiest of clothes — pajamas!

The IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum is celebrating the holiday season with special screenings of "The Polar Express: An IMAX 3D Experience."

The theater is holding screenings, along with the annual "Polar Pajama Parties," from Dec. 6 until Dec. 19. Combo tickets are $20 and provide entry for one adult and one child. A single adult ticket is $15.50.

“Seasonal movies are at the center of a lot of family traditions,” said Neale Johantgen, IMAX theater manager. “We are a destination for good films and family experiences. We’re happy to continue the Polar Pajama Party tradition. Check your PJ pockets for holes, we wouldn’t want any concession stand candy to fall out!”

Families can make a whole day out of this experience by also going to the Indiana State Museum’s Celebration Crossing holiday festivities. This features a 4½-minute train ride called the Snowfall Express. Event officials said the train will take visitors through a forest where Indiana’s animals past and present are preparing for winter.
