INDIANAPOLIS — A Hoosier legend is set to open a new location for her popular tea shop Tuesday.
Tamika Catchings, four-time Olympic gold medalist and Indiana Fever Hall of Famer, bought Tea's Me Café when she found out the original owners were planning to close down the business. Now, she's opening another store on IU Indianapolis' campus.
On Sept. 24, the community is invited to join in a special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new café at 9 a.m. in the IU Indy Campus Center.
“Our goal is to create a gathering space that not only serves the community with exceptional tea and food options but also fosters an environment where everyone can come together, connect, and be inspired,” Catchings said. “We are excited to bring Tea’s Me Café to the IU Indianapolis campus and look forward to partnering with student-run organizations to make this a dynamic space for students and the community alike.”
According to the café's website, its mission is also to provide a "vibrant space for community engagement, exceptional service and high-quality loose-leaf tea."
