INDIANAPOLIS — Saturday morning saw a sea of pink at Military Park for the Susan G. Komen "More Than Pink" walk.
"Ladies we all have a story," Janae Swan said. "All of you remember, you get that phone call that kind of rocks your world."
The call thousands of women got when they were diagnosed with breast cancer.
"It's just a sisterhood, it's a lot of love, comfort, and friendships built through this," survivor Tammy Lisby said.
Survivors and their families joined for the walk. While this event raises thousands of dollars for research, it's more about celebrating and honoring these women.
"Being about to survive because some people didn't make it, but we did and it's a great feeling," survivor Sherry Barney said.
Walking with these women was 13News anchor Scott Swan and his wife Janae, who is a three year survivor.
While these woman may have felt alone at times, they've got an army walking behind them.
"They see it's more than just them going through this and we are helping them every step of the way," Board President Ryan Randolph said.
Steps so many are taking to end breast cancer.
"We have a sense of hope that we can do anything and bringing each other together," Dawn Wright, volunteer said.
