73-year-old man killed in southwest Indy crash

IMPD said the victim was initially transported to an area hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

INDIANAPOLIS — A man died following a crash on the southwest side of Indianapolis Friday evening. 

According to a release from IMPD, around 5:15 p.m. on July 12, officers responded to the 4000 block of Kentucky Avenue, near South Lynhurst Drive, on a report of a possible fatal crash. 

Medics transported a victim to an area hospital in critical condition, but roughly four hours later, IMPD announced the victim had died from their injuries. 

On Monday, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the person killed as 73-year-old David Allen Bryant.

Police have not shared how many cars were involved or what may have led up to the crash.

The IMPD fatal crash team will investigate the incident.
