INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is now officially a historic landmark.
A plaque marking the designation of the monument as a National Historic Landmark was dedicated Wednesday afternoon on Monument Circle.
The occasion was celebrated with a garrison flag over the Circle, which made for some stunning photos from Eyewitness News viewers.
The monument wasn't included when the Indiana War Memorial was dedicated, but that oversight was amended with Wednesday's dedication.
