INDIANAPOLIS — In an effort to promote a safe St. Patrick's Day, residents of Indianapolis and Fort Wayne can get discounts on a ride home.
Sober Ride Indiana has partnered with Uber and Lyft to offer $10 off rides all St. Patrick's Day weekend. Up to 1,000 redemptions are available each day.
Ride credits can be redeemed between 5 p.m. and 3 a.m.
"Because St. Patrick's Day falls on a Sunday this year, we anticipate that alcohol consumption will increase on that day and throughout the weekend. We ask everyone to celebrate responsibly. That should begin before you go out to celebrate by deciding who will be your sober designated driver or whether you will use a ride-sharing service or taxi," said Devon McDonald, Executive Director of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
