Six Foot Blonde performing at U.S. Olympic Swim Trials

The band formed three years ago in Bloomington and is now stopping in Indy before its national tour.

INDIANAPOLIS — One local band is making a big splash in Indianapolis.

Six Foot Blonde is set to perform tonight for the final day of the One America Georgia Street Concert Series, as part of the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials.

The band formed three years ago in Bloomington, while each of the six members was a student at Indiana University. Now, the group is heading out on its first national tour, including stops in New York City, Philadelphia, and ending back home at the Hi-Fi in Fountain Square.

Six Foot Blonde is also launching its latest single "Landgirl" this Friday, June 28. Band members say getting the chance to perform on the Georgia Street stage is a huge honor.

"I always thought it would be a dream to be here, I just didn't realize it would be singing instead of swimming," said Julia Rusyniak, the band's lead vocalist.

Here's a snippet of the band's new single coming out Friday:

Six Foot Blonde includes lead vocalist Jullia Rusyniak, Elliott Obermaier on the slide guitar, Zach Patrick on the electric guitar and vocals, Dominick Heyob on bass and vocals, John Alex Rusyniak on keyboard, and Brian Healey on drums.'

You can hear each of them on stage Sunday at 5:30 p.m., near the intersection of Illinois St. and Georgia St. downtown. For more information about Six Food Blonde, click here.
