INDIANAPOLIS — A fight broke out between two siblings, resulting in one being stabbed, outside a school on the west side of Indianapolis on Friday.
Jeannine Templeman with the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township said the fight happened between two school-aged siblings who were not MSD of Wayne Township students.
The siblings were outside, on school grounds at the Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center, located near South Lynhurst Drive and I-70.
They were together in a car in the car rider line when one of the siblings stabbed the other with a knife.
"Staff enacted their school safety plan, and at no time were students and staff in danger," Templeman said in a statement to 13News. "School police and IMPD responded to secure the scene and detained one individual."
School officials say emergency personnel provided medical attention and determined the injury to the person who was stabbed was not life-threatening.
"Student dismissal occurred on time with no delay to students arriving home," Templeman said.
The age of the juvenile who was stabbed has not been confirmed by officials.
