INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - While some people get angry when they get honked at on the road, one IU Health shuttle driver waves and smiles. Passengers who ride his bus say he's "A Ray of Sunshine."
Tim Lange started driving people around to different IU Health properties a little over a year ago. He finds peace behind the wheel.
"I've been driving all my life," said Lange. "I love driving."
Lange's passengers absorb that peace and positivity.
"I believe we're born to serve each other," said Lange.
Lange inspires people and lifts their spirits. Dozens of people have emailed IU Health to share their positive experiences with him.
"He can lift you up just with words," said Ramona Carter, Lange's supervisor.
Carter said he doesn't even realize the impact he's having on people.
"He has brightened days when people are down," said Carter. "If we had plenty of him, the world would be just great. The world would be great."
"He just shines," said IU Health's Gina Petty. "I would call him 'A Ray of Sunshine.' He is pleasant. He’s eager to please. He’s happy to serve and always has something positive to say along the ride."
Lange believes every day is a gift and his motto is "Everyday is an opportunity for a celebration."
