INDIANAPOLIS — As fans and celebrities visit Indianapolis for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, they're also experiencing the numerous dining options the city has to offer.

NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal weighed in on social media about his favorite spot in the Circle City.

Shaq posted on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, Friday evening that he thought Kountry Kitchen, located at 1831 N. College Ave., was "the best soul food spot ever."

The post brings more positive notoriety to the popular eatery, especially following the restaurant's complete restoration after a 2020 fire and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic put a significant strain on the store's owners.

Recently, the restaurant celebrated Christmas by giving free food to 2,000 families.

The new Kountry Kitchen, which reopened Oct. 19, covers five lots at the corner of 19th Street and College Avenue. With more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, the restaurant, and now event space, will be able to seat up to 300 people inside and an additional 120 to 150 guests on the outdoor rooftop space.
