INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 74 have been closed on the southeast side of Indianapolis due to an overturned semi.
The crash happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday near Interstate 465. State police say a medical helicopter is en route to the scene.
Police tell Eyewitness News the semi was exiting I-465 onto I-74 eastbound when the driver lost control, apparently due to excessive speed. The female driver was trapped until crews could arrive. She was flown to the hospital via Lifeline with traumatic injuries to her upper body.
There is no report of other injuries in the crash at this time.
