Self bag check now available at Indianapolis Airport

American and Southwest now offer self-serve kiosks for baggage check-in.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – Passengers departing from the Indianapolis International Airport on American Airlines and Southwest Airlines can now choose to tag and check their bags with new self-service kiosks before they reach the ticket counter.

The new kiosks provide a one-stop-shop opportunity for passengers to check in for their flights, print their boarding passes, change flights, check their own luggage and save time at check in.

“These kiosks are a perfect fit with the airport’s mission to provide excellent customer service," said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez. "And our airline partners are keenly leveraging technology to provide that with a more-convenient passenger experience.”

Delta, Frontier, United and Alaska airlines also have self-serve kiosks, but American and Southwest are the only airlines right now that provide the self bag-check at the ticket counter.

Southwest just launched their self bag-check kiosks after American was the first airline to offer the service in Indy earlier this year.

Customers can still use the agents at the ticket counter to check-in, check bags, change flights, or handle other travel needs.
