BEVERLY SHORES, Ind. — On Thursday, Indiana Conservation Officers recovered the body of a 17-year-old who went missing in Lake Michigan.

Around 2:10 p.m. Aug. 6, Porter County deputies received a report of several swimmers in distress near the intersection of County Road 300 East and West Lake Front Drive in Beverly Shores.

When officers arrived on scene, they found three different people who were taken to a local hospital in stable condition, but EMS confirms there was a 17-year-old from Eagon, Minnesota who was last seen around 300 feet from shore. First responders attempted to go in the water to rescue the teen but had to stop due to large waves.
