INDIANAPOLIS — Several 13News personalities enjoyed the festivities at the Indiana State Fair Wednesday and one tried his hand at a popular competition.
Meteorologist Sean Ash stepped up to take part in the watermelon seed catapulting contest, but did not place in the top three. He did, however, get a participation ribbon for his effort.

The winner, Jianxing Chen from China, is in Indiana visiting family. His cousin also earned a spot on the 13News "medal podium" after the contest.
The watermelon seed catapulting contest, which involves flinging seeds from a small tabletop catapult for distance, is held at 3 p.m. each day of the fair outside Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
This year's fair runs through Aug. 18 and is open every day except Mondays.
