INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis International Airport welcomed a special visitor on Saturday.
Santa Claus visited the Indy airport for his annual practice run as a part of the Holly Jolly Jetway event.
Arriving on a firetruck, Santa greeted more than 1,000 Hoosier families and children during the event. Visitors were able to get pictures with Santa as well as write him their Christmas lists.
"All our letters go into a mailbox and we make sure they all go to Santa Claus, Indiana," said Callie McCune, coordinator of community events and public affairs for the Indy Airport Authority. "You can then get a response so everyone makes sure their wishes get fulfilled."
Those who missed Saturday's event with Santa can still enjoy some festive cheer when they visit the Indianapolis International Airport. There's now a large Christmas tree on display as well as the iconic "INDY" photo spot.
