Samaritan's Feet International donates new shoes to Indy elementary school students

Samaritan's Feet International stopped by Promise Prep to wash the feet of 147 students and give them new socks and shoes.

INDIANAPOLIS — Students at an elementary school in Lawrence returned home on Friday with new pairs of shoes.

Samaritan's Feet International stopped by Promise Prep in Lawrence on Oct. 4 to wash the feet of 147 students and give them new socks and shoes.

Delisa Jones, the principal at Promise Prep, said this humble act of service made a world of difference for these kids.

"Our children were so grateful for this opportunity," said Jones. "We saw so many children smiling and saying how they were excited to have new shoes. They were showing them off and telling everyone thank you. So we're just so grateful for this opportunity."

Kids were also given a "hope tote," featuring a message of inspiration and encouragement for them to take to class.
