INDIANAPOLIS — A new artist is taking over THE LUME exhibit at Newfields.
So far, the interactive art showcase has featured the artwork of Monet and Van Gogh. Starting Saturday, it will be taken over by the art of Salvador Dalí in a whole new way.
The exhibit is called "Dalí Alive."
Dalí is known for his surreal dreamscapes. At THE LUME, his artwork comes alive on more than 120 projectors.
"I often think that THE LUME acts as an invitation to folks that maybe want to explore a museum but don't know where to begin or maybe don't know that much about art and they can come in and enjoy art in a different way and then get to our final gallery, where we show four works from our own collection by Salvador Dalí that haven't been seen for 45, 50 years, which is like an undiscovered treasure," said Jonathan Berger with Newfields.
Tickets for the new exhibit are available now online. Children ages 6-17 can get in for $20, adult tickets are $29 and tickets for those age 55 and older are $25. Members of Newfields get a discount on admission and children 5 and under are free.
