NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — It's going to cost music fans more to attend a show at a popular central Indiana concert venue.
Concertgoers noticed the change to the parking policy at Ruoff Music Center this week. The facility's website says it will now charge $20 for a parking pass at the venue, when purchased in advance. Fans paying for parking on the day of the concert will pay $25 with a credit card.
Previously, general parking was free.
A pop-up message on Live Nation's ticketing page for Ruoff shows mentions, "Parking is sold separately from concert tickets. You will need to purchase a parking pass if you plan to park at the venue."
Other parking options include premier parking for $65, VIP parking for $99 and limousine or oversized parking for $200. Those prices are valid when purchased in advance of the event.
For those not wishing to pay for parking, a drop-off/pick-up area is available at Rideshare Gate 2A, near the intersection of Boden Road and 146th Street.
While the venue hasn't issued a formal release about the pricing changes on its website or social media pages, fans have voiced their displeasure with the new charge on a post on the Ruoff Music Center Facebook page announcing Rod Stewart's Aug. 9 concert.
Several fans also mentioned the venue will no longer allow chairs to be brought into the facility for shows. Ruoff Music Center makes mention of that policy in the "Know Before You Go" section of its website, adding that fans can rent "a beach chair with built-in cup holder, built for the slope of the lawn" from the venue. Chair rentals can be made through Ticketmaster for $15 or at a designated stand on the day of the show.
