INDIANAPOLIS — Remember those pop tabs that you'd collect and bring to your local schools? Well, start collecting again because the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana is hosting its 20th Annual Pop Tab Event to help raise money for hospitalized children.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, the collection event will be held at the Sun King location in downtown Indy. Donors are asked to bring their pop tab collections to that location, and will receive a gift card based on the weight of their donation.

“Pop tab collection is a fun and easy way for schools, families, and groups to help support the mission of the House- keeping families close to their sick children," said Meredith Smith, community engagement manager.

Those who are unable to attend but still want to donate can bring their tabs to the Ronald McDonald House anytime.

The Pop Tab program has helped raise over $800,000 by recycling over one billion tabs since the program launched in 1995.

Sun King is also hosting a Dollar Giveback Night on Thursday, Sept. 12, where $1 of every pint purchased will be given to the Ronald McDonald House.
