WESTFIELD, Ind. — A new retail and residential property has been proposed for downtown Westfield.
Plans for a mixed-use project called Park and Poplar was presented to Westfield's city council on Monday, Nov. 11 by Old Town Companies. The $125 million project is proposed for the west side of downtown Westfield.
The development at the corner of Park and Poplar streets would include retail and office spaces, a boutique hotel and apartments. A public parking garage and plaza will connect across the Midland Trace Trail to Park Street, the city announced.
Mayor Scott Willis stressed that the project will not impact the restaurants and businesses that are currently in the area.
"This project will serve as a key anchor point, helping to enhance Park Street and Restaurant Row," Willis said in a release from the city. "We are excited to see continued investment in our downtown."
The proposed development will have a public hearing Monday, Dec. 2. Council members are tentatively scheduled to vote on the plan Jan. 27, 2025.
