NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Hoosiers will have a unique new way to travel on a historic rail line in central Indiana this summer.
The Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad announced Friday that railbike excursions will be available later this year on the historic Nickel Plate line in Noblesville.
Up to four passengers of all ages can ride each of the Rail Gliders on scheduled tours that last between 45 minutes and two hours. The railbikes are pedaled along the existing Nickel Plate rail line, traveling north toward Cicero or south to downtown Noblesville.
Two tours are planned: the Forest Park Rail Adventure, which will last two hours and head north on the line, and the White River Family Cruise, which includes a 45-minute ride and 60 minutes to shop or dine in downtown Noblesville. Both tours will start late this spring.
Single seats on the tours are $30 or $45 and all four seats can be reserved for $109 or $129, depending on the tour.
The railbikes are the first of their kind in Indiana and only a few are available in the Midwest.
