LEBANON, Ind. (Lebanon Reporter) - A former U.S. Marine is trying to get the Medal of Honor for a fellow Marine from Lebanon.
According to our news gathering partners at the Lebanon Reporter, Richard Bogan was in South Korea in 1968 when he jumped on a hand grenade to save the lives of others.
Bogan received the Navy Cross for his actions.
Gerry Regan was with Bogan when it happened. Now, even though Bogan has since passed away, Regan is in the process of trying to have his Navy Cross replaced with the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military honor.
