FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Franklin branch of the Johnson County Public Library hosted a special event on Sunday, making sure everyone has the best outfit for prom season.
"Project Prom" kicked off Sunday offering high school students preparing for the prom to find the perfect outfits. Teens got to choose from a wide variety of dresses, tuxedos, shoes and more at no charge to them.
Organizers of the event say the event isn't just for high school students. It's open to everyone as a way to take the stress out of prom season.
"It makes things easier, it lets parents breathe a little when they don't have to set money aside and it makes it easier for teens so they don't have to set money aside," said Josephine Whitaker, the leader of "Project Prom" and Johnson County Public Library children's programming assistant. "It helps bring the community together in a way you wouldn't think would happen."
The event continues Wednesday, March 20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will also be open next Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24.
Last year's event reportedly helped 250 teens find their perfect prom outfit.
