PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) - Plainfield police say a tip about someone possibly using drugs in the parking lot of a department store led to a brief chase that damaged four cars.

Police say around 2 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a report of a person using drugs in a parking lot.

As officers approached, the truck took off and led officers on a brief chase across the parking lot.

Police say at some point, the driver lost control of the truck and hit four parked cars at a nearby Applebee's.

Officers pulled 19-year-old Joseph Fox from the truck as it began to smoke.

Medics took Fox to a hospital for a medical evaluation.

No other injuries were reported.

Police say Fox could face several charges upon release from the hospital.
