INDIANAPOLIS — One person was killed in a crash on the far east side of Indianapolis Tuesday evening.
Metro police officers were called to East 10th Street and North Gibson Avenue around 6:30 p.m. on a report of a crash.
Police at the scene told 13News the driver of a pick-up truck was trying to pass another vehicle on East 10th Street when the truck left the roadway and crashed.
The male driver died at the scene. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified him as 39-year-old Thomas Roberson.
Police said two children, ages 4 and 8, were injured in the crash. The 4-year-old is in critical condition, the 8-year-old is in serious condition.
Investigators say none of the occupants of the truck were wearing seat belts, and the children were not in car seats at the time of the crash.
