Double death investigation underway in Shelby County

Authorities responded to North Christopher Lane for a shots fired call Sunday afternoon.

FAIRLAND, Ind. — An investigation is underway after two men were found dead in a Shelby County home Sunday afternoon. 

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department, Moral Township Fire Department and Shelbyville Fire Department responded to the 7100 block of North Christopher Lane, near North Michigan Road, for a shots fired call around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27.

When authorities arrived on scene, they found a 39-year-old man, from Wanamaker, Indiana, and a 28-year-old man, from Fountaintown, Indiana, unresponsive. The two were later pronounced dead. At this time, it's unclear exactly how they died. 

Police said no other people were found in the home. Officers believe this is an "isolated incident," the sheriff's department said.

There are no additional details available.
