Police ask public to help find missing Greencastle man

Greencastle Police are looking for tips about a homeless man who disappeared before Christmas.

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WTHR) — The Greencastle Police Department is asking for help locating Darren Huff, who has been missing since Dec. 21, 2019.

Huff walked away sometime between 11 and 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 21 with his wallet and no cell phone. He was last seen walking toward South Bloomington Street wearing a quarter zip Colts windbreaker, jeans and brown work boots.

Video surveillance recorded Huff on the east side of Greencastle at approximately 1:30 p.m. walking alone toward the Speedway gas station and Castlebury area.

Huff's family said he had not been taking prescribed heart medications, and his bank account has shown no activity since he disappeared.

Police are asking residents to check their property, including storage buildings, ponds and wooded areas.

Huff was considered homeless and known to sleep in abandoned buildings and storage units.
