INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead after an apparent shooting in a neighborhood southeast of downtown Indianapolis.
IMPD officers were sent to the 2400 block of St. Paul Street around 9:30 p.m. Thursday. A department spokesperson said they found a man with "injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s)."
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Marion County coroner identified the victim as 47-year-old Martin Griffin.
Griffin's death was ruled a homicide.
IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin an investigation.
