INDIANAPOLIS — Crews with the Pike Township Fire Department were at the right place at the right time on Tuesday.

While the crews from Pike Township Fire Station 62 were training in Eagle Creek Reservoir Sept. 3, a pet owner asked them to save his dog, which was "confused and exhausted from chasing ducks too far from shore and couldn't make it back on his own," the department said in a social media post.

The crews pulled up to the dog in their boat and were able to reunite him with his owner on the shore.
