America and Canada generally get along fine, but that's not always the case in nature.
Lisa Bell, an amateur photographer in British Columbia shared photos of an epic battle between a bald eagle and a Canada Goose near Vancouver. Bell and her family were on vacation when she heard the commotion and grabbed her camera.
"The eagle was sitting on the goose," Bell told CTV News. "The goose was basically playing dead."
When the eagle adjusted its stance, Bell says the goose raised its back end and wiggled itself free. Some of Bell's best shots come in the chase that ensued, as the goose zipped toward a nearby pond with the eagle in hot pursuit.
It was able to dive under the water and avoid a second pass by the swooping eagle, which returned to a nearby tree, watching the goose with a second eagle for nearly an hour.
Bell even answered critics who asked why she didn't help the goose.
"That was nature taking its course and there's not much I can do about it," Bell told CTV. "He was hungry. You look at it from the eagle's point of view and they have babies to feed, as well."
The goose suffered only a few minor scratches in the battle.
