INDIANAPOLIS — A20-year-old man was killed in a shooting on the near northwest side of Indianapolis Sunday morning.
Around 6:30 a.m. June 16, IMPD officers responded to the 2900 block of North Warman Avenue, near West 30th Street and West Kessler Boulevard North Drive, on a report of a person down.
Officers arrived and found one victim who had been shot. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 20-year-old Zephinia Bolden.
"It's unfortunate, it's Father's Day," an IMPD spokesperson said at the scene.
IMPD has not yet arrested any suspect in the incident. Investigators say they are working to find out if the victim lived on this street.
"We are not particularly focusing on any particular home. We are trying to figure out if this individual lived in this area," Young said.
13News spoke with several neighbors off-camera, who said they didn't hear anything overnight or in the morning. Neighbors said this is a quiet neighborhood but did see a large party at one of the homes on this street.
Police urge neighbors to come forward, even if they have little information.
"Any information is always helpful, even if you think it doesn't matter, any information is helpful whenever we have a case like this," Young said.
